an update...that uses words
So much going on in Astrid's world right now. She's been crawling around the hard wood floors like a little speed demon. She giggles when she knows we are going to chase her (as in - because she is bee-lining straight for the electrical cords).
Oh! I got a new full time job! It is following Astrid, zoologist, around and keeping her from getting too friendly with the cats. Astrid doesn't give breaks; OSHA has no jurisdiction here. Ostensibly mama's creative distraction power is being honed into a supreme art. She is so fast that half the time she is already pulling herself up on something AND trying to climb it before I catch up with her.
She is also doing great with finger foods. She shovels broccoli in like a vegan. If only she would swallow a little.
Astrid wants to do nothing with her days but pull up to standing and try to walk. (Assisted of course). Her brain is churning! She is very expressive and gets so proud of herself. She can say mum mum and Bob. Bob and Bev have a little rivalry going...was her first word boo or Bob?
We had the most excellent Father's day this year. It was really too hot to eat outside. This was a real bummer because for the first time ever, the Burkarts had enough outdoor seating for all. We really enjoyed the company, but the hostess was too busy to get any photos.
